Bicycle collision in Big Lake injures Chase Edward Lewis Williams

BIG LAKE, MN (April 9, 2026) – A 26-year-old man was injured Thursday morning in a bicycle collision crash involving a vehicle in Big Lake.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the accident occurred at about 6:57 a.m. when a Honda CR-V traveling westbound on Tarrytown Road attempted to turn onto State Highway 25 and collided with a bicyclist traveling south.

The cyclist, identified as Chase Edward Lewis Williams of Big Lake, sustained injuries and was transported to CentraCare Health Hospital in Monticello.

Authorities have not released additional details regarding the extent of his injuries. The crash remains under review.

BICYCLE ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION NEEDED

Bicyclists such as Williams are protected under various traffic laws, yet incidents like this demonstrate the risks riders still face on roadways. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), more than 130,000 bicyclists are injured in crashes across the United States each year. These accidents often occur when motorists are speeding, distracted, or fail to yield to cyclists.

Candice Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal, emphasized the importance of retaining an attorney to conduct an independent investigation to secure evidence and protect the rights of injured victims.

“An attorney can gather critical evidence to demonstrate whether a driver acted negligently, which requires a range of resources,” said Bond, a national analyst for Accident Injury News. “In addition to law enforcement efforts, attorneys may re-interview witnesses, review surveillance footage, and obtain phone and text records of the involved parties. Acting as an advocate, an attorney helps guide victims through the process while protecting their legal rights.”

PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM

Pending the outcome of the investigation, Chase Edward Lewis Williams may have the right to pursue a personal injury claim.

Stefano Formica, Of Counsel with Bond Legal, stated that the aftermath of a serious injury can be overwhelming and affect many aspects of life, including employment, finances, and overall well-being.

“It is crucial for victims to have legal representation when filing a personal injury claim so negotiations with insurance companies can be handled effectively,” Formica said.

“Insurance companies frequently attempt to settle claims quickly for far less than their true value. An attorney will strongly advocate to ensure victims are treated fairly and receive appropriate compensation,” he added.
