SPOKANE VALLEY, WA — June 6, 2026 — A 19-year-old Clarkston man sustained injuries Saturday following a hit-and-run crash in Spokane Valley, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Authorities identified the victim as Benjamin Alvarez, who was operating a Subaru Impreza at the time of the incident. According to the WSP, Alvarez was making a right turn from Sprague Avenue onto State Route 27 when his vehicle was struck by a Toyota Scion whose driver had failed to stop at a red traffic light.
Following the collision, both the driver and a passenger in the Toyota Scion abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene on foot. No arrests have been announced at this time.
The Washington State Patrol has opened an investigation into the incident. The case remains active, and no further details have been released by authorities.
