BICYCLE CRASH INVESTIGATION

Bicyclists face significant dangers on roadways. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that 1,105 cyclists died in motor vehicle accidents in 2022, an 11 percent increase from the previous year. Most bicyclist fatalities involve head injuries, highlighting the importance of wearing a helmet.

“Bicyclists are among the most vulnerable roadway users, and many different factors can contribute to serious collisions,” said Candice Bond, a managing partner with Bond Legal.

“It is essential to determine the exact cause of these types of crashes. An attorney has the resources to review applicable insurance coverage, retain expert witnesses, conduct background investigations, and locate witnesses. We carefully guide the victim’s family through every step of the legal process.”

Bond, an experienced bicycle accident attorney, emphasized that independent investigations should begin promptly to help preserve critical evidence.

“In addition to reviewing the police report, an attorney will thoroughly examine all potential contributing factors,” Bond said. “A lawyer has the resources to retain expert witnesses, conduct background checks, identify witnesses, and evaluate applicable insurance coverage. Serving as an advocate, an attorney can help guide an injured victim through what can often be a complex process.”

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

Pending the investigation, the family of Bailey Caldwell could pursue a wrongful death claim. Family members of wrongful death victims may seek damages for loss of companionship, pain and suffering, and emotional distress following a tragic or catastrophic accident such as this.

“The stress and sorrow can be extremely overwhelming after losing a loved one in an accident,” said Stefano Formica, of counsel at Bond Legal.

“We understand the difficult challenges families must face after such a tragic loss, and protecting their legal rights is essential. A wrongful death lawyer will remain informed about the official investigation and help ensure that their legal rights and best interests are fully protected.”
