ROCKVILLE, Minn. — Two drivers suffered serious injuries when their vehicles collided head-on Monday morning on a Stearns County road.
Emergency dispatchers received reports of the crash near Cedar Street and Broadway Street East in Rockville around 5:40 a.m. Responding deputies found both drivers requiring immediate medical attention.
Paramedics transported Axel Lopez-Padilla, 23, of Rockville and Wayne Hennen, 64, of Clearwater to St. Cloud Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
Officials determined neither driver was wearing a seat belt at the time of impact. Multiple agencies responded to assist, including the Rockville Fire Department, Mayo Ambulance, Waite Park Police Department, and Minnesota State Patrol.
Authorities continue investigating what caused the collision.
