AUSTIN, TX (Aug. 9, 2026) — The victim of a fatal Sunday night vehicle-versus-pedestrian crash in Austin has been identified as a 64-year-old woman.
According to the Austin Police Department, the incident unfolded around 11:18 p.m. in the 8500 block of North Lamar Boulevard near Thurmond Street.
The victim, Margaret Govea, was declared deceased at the scene of the crash.
The driver stopped and is cooperating with law enforcement officials. This remains an active investigation.
