KANSAS CITY, MO, (March 21, 2026) – Authorities are searching for a driver who fled the scene of a fatal hit-and-run crash that claimed the life of Arthur Lee, a well-known local pitmaster.
According to police, the incident occurred shortly before 2:30 a.m. at the intersection of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. and Eastwood Trafficway. Lee, 60, was riding a scooter and attempting a left-hand turn when a dark-colored SUV ran a red light and struck him.
Emergency responders pronounced Lee dead at the scene. Investigators believe the suspect vehicle is a newer-model SUV with mirrors that include turn signals and likely sustained visible front-end damage.
The Kansas City Police Department continues to review surveillance footage and is asking for the public’s help in identifying the driver.
