Arianna Pearson dies in Tennessee school truck-bus collision

Cedar Grove, TN, (March 27, 2026) – A fatal school bus crash in Carroll County claimed the life of Arianna Pearson and another student while injuring multiple others, officials said.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, a Kenwood Middle School bus crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a Tennessee Department of Transportation dump truck near Cedar Grove. The bus then struck an SUV before ending up in a ditch.

The group was traveling to Jackson for a Greenpower USA field trip at the time of the crash.

Arianna Pearson was among two students pronounced dead. Several others sustained injuries, with multiple victims airlifted to trauma centers in Nashville and Memphis.

Four pediatric patients were taken to Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt and were reported stable. Baptist Memorial Hospital-Carroll County treated 19 patients, all of whom were later released.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

CRASH INVESTIGATION

Candice Bond, an experienced bus accident attorney, stated that in incidents like this, conducting an independent investigation promptly is critical to protect victims’ rights.

“Bus crashes are often complex, with multiple factors potentially contributing,” said Bond, Managing Partner of Bond Legal.

“An attorney can help safeguard victims against entities that often send their own investigators and have significant resources to defend a negligent truck driver.

“Your lawyer can support you by engaging expert witnesses, reviewing driver records, identifying witnesses, and examining insurance coverage, while guiding victims through the legal process.”

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

Pending the investigation, the family of Arianna Pearson could pursue a wrongful death claim. Family members of wrongful death victims may seek damages for loss of companionship, pain and suffering, and emotional distress following a tragic or catastrophic accident such as this.

“The stress and sorrow can be extremely overwhelming after losing a loved one in an accident,” said Stefano Formica, of counsel at Bond Legal.

“We understand the challenges families face during such times, and protecting their rights is crucial. A wrongful death lawyer will remain informed about the official investigation and help ensure the family’s legal rights and best interests are protected.”
