CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED

According to the Ohio Department of Transportation, wrong-way crashes account for about 0.01% of crashes annually but are about 40 times more likely to be deadly.

The most common cause of these types of accidents is driver error. Such crashes can also be caused by drunk driving, distracted driving, poor road design, and confusion on the part of the driver.

Candice Bond, an experienced auto accident attorney, emphasized that in situations like this, it is essential to initiate an independent investigation through a reputable law firm as soon as possible to preserve critical evidence.

“Along with the police report, an attorney will conduct a thorough review of all factors that may have contributed to the crash,” said Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal and a national analyst for Accident Injury News. “Legal counsel has the resources to retain expert witnesses, perform driver background checks, identify witnesses, and evaluate applicable insurance coverage. Acting as an advocate, an attorney can also help guide an injured victim through this difficult time while protecting their legal rights.”

PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM

The victim injured in this accident may have the right to pursue a personal injury lawsuit. Stefano Formica, Of Counsel with Bond Legal, noted that the stress and uncertainty after a serious injury can affect every aspect of a person’s life, including family, employment, finances, and overall well-being.

“While financial compensation cannot undo a severe injury, it is important for victims to understand their legal rights and the remedies available to them,” Formica added. “The injured individual in this crash may be eligible to file a personal injury claim and seek damages for medical expenses, future care, pain and suffering, and emotional distress.”
