FATAL MOTORCYCLE CRASH INVESTIGATION

According to Candice Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal, many motorcycle accidents are preventable and are frequently caused by negligent passenger-vehicle drivers.

According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), 6,335 motorcyclists died in crashes in 2023. That was the highest number ever recorded and represented a 26% increase since 2019.

Bond said that in cases such as this, an independent investigation conducted by an experienced lawyer is important to protect the rights of a victim’s family.

“Motorcyclists are arguably the most vulnerable motorists on the road, and several factors can contribute to fatal crashes,” said Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal. “Blind spots, inexperienced drivers, and distracted motorists can often contribute to these types of collisions. An attorney has the resources to hire expert witnesses, conduct drivers’ background checks, locate witnesses to the crash, and review applicable insurance coverage, while carefully assisting the grieving family through the legal process and protecting their best interests.”

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

Pending the investigation, family members of Anthony Mills may be entitled to pursue a wrongful death claim. Relatives of wrongful death victims may seek damages for loss of companionship, pain, suffering, and emotional distress following a tragic or catastrophic accident such as this incident.

“The stress and grief can be extremely overwhelming after losing a loved one in an accident,” said Stefano Formica, Of Counsel with Bond Legal. “We understand what families are forced to endure, and protecting their rights is essential. A wrongful death lawyer can remain informed about the official investigation while helping ensure that the family’s legal rights and best interests are protected.”
