Oak Park police continue to investigate the fatal crash.

Pedestrian crashes in Illinois in 2024 accounted for 1.6% of all crashes but nearly 20% (19.7%) of fatal crashes and 7% of injury crashes, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation.
