RICHLAND COUNTY, SC — June 26, 2026 — A woman was hospitalized Friday after a driver allegedly fled from Richland County Sheriff’s Department deputies and caused a collision that left her injured, authorities said.
Ann-Maria Wilson was traveling in a vehicle in the area of Benedict Street and Farrow Road when her car was struck by a vehicle allegedly driven by Akeem Campbell, 34. According to investigators, the incident began when a deputy attempted to pull Campbell over after he failed to signal at the intersection of Mason Road and Sinclair Drive. Campbell allegedly refused to stop and fled, triggering a pursuit that ended in the crash.
Wilson sustained injuries in the collision and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Details on the severity of her injuries were not publicly disclosed.
