Angelica Riebli cited after hitting child near Pullman High School

PULLMAN, WA, (April 22, 2026) – A juvenile was injured Wednesday morning after being struck by a vehicle in front of Pullman High School, according to local authorities.

The crash occurred at approximately 8:20 a.m. at the intersection of Greyhound Way and Emily Street. Police said an SUV driven by 34-year-old Angelica Riebli of Pullman struck a child who was in a marked crosswalk.

The injured juvenile was transported to Pullman Regional Hospital with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening.

Authorities said Riebli was driving with a suspended license at the time of the incident and was cited for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.

Pullman Police and Fire units responded to the scene. The incident remains under investigation.

CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED

Drivers can reduce the risk of pedestrian-related crashes by remaining attentive, maintaining safe speeds, and adhering strictly to pedestrian right-of-way laws. Pedestrians are especially vulnerable in traffic incidents. According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), pedestrian fatalities have increased by 78% and now represent 18% of all traffic-related deaths.

“Thorough resources are essential when investigating pedestrian accidents and establishing liability,” said Candice Bond, Managing Partner of Bond Legal and a seasoned pedestrian accident attorney.

Bond emphasized, “In most cases, pedestrians have the right-of-way when crossing streets or intersections, whether in marked crosswalks or not. Drivers are required to yield.”

Additional contributing factors such as road conditions, visibility of signage, and street lighting must also be carefully reviewed. These steps are critical in helping victims and their families pursue justice.

PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM

The juvenile injured in the crash may have the right to pursue a personal injury claim pending the results of the investigation.

Stefano Formica, Of Counsel at Bond Legal, stated, “Victims injured in collisions often pursue personal injury claims to recover compensation for medical expenses, ongoing care, lost income, emotional distress, and pain and suffering.”

“Insurance companies are often indifferent to the rising costs faced by injured victims. An attorney can provide vital assistance. We advocate for victims every day, ensuring insurance companies are held accountable for their actions,” Formica added.
