Andru Felix dies in Delano rollover collision, CHP reports

DELANO, CA, (October 16, 2025) — Two people were killed and another was injured early Thursday morning following a single-vehicle rollover crash in Delano, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

One of the victims was identified as Andru Luque Felix, 19, of Delano.

Authorities said a 2017 black Acura ILX driven by a 21-year-old man was traveling eastbound on Woollomes Avenue, west of Wallace Road, at a high rate of speed around 12:28 a.m. The driver lost control, veered off the north edge of the roadway, and struck several large metal poles and a wooden power pole.

Both the driver and Felix were pronounced dead at the scene. A 19-year-old passenger riding in the rear seat was transported to Kern Medical with moderate to major injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.

CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED

Speeding continues to be one of the most dangerous driving behaviors in the U.S. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reported that 11,775 people were killed in speed-related crashes in 2023, accounting for nearly one-third of all traffic deaths. Excessive speed reduces a driver’s ability to react quickly and increases the severity of collisions.

While the CHP continues its investigation, Candice Bond, Managing Partner of Bond Legal and a national legal analyst, emphasized the importance of conducting an independent investigation to ensure that all evidence is preserved and reviewed properly.

“In addition to the diligent work of law enforcement, an attorney can re-interview witnesses, analyze surveillance footage from the crash scene, and obtain phone or texting records of the liable party,” Bond said. “Time is of the essence in cases such as this, and the victim’s family must make sure that critical evidence is secured and reviewed efficiently.”

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

Pending the results of the investigation, the family of Andru Luque Felix may be entitled to pursue a wrongful death claim to seek compensation for loss of companionship, emotional distress, and other damages following a devastating crash.

“We understand that losing a loved one is not only a heartbreaking experience but also a financial hardship,” said Stefano Formica, Of Counsel at Bond Legal. “Families deserve to know their rights and receive the legal support necessary to obtain justice and accountability.”
