MARION COUNTY, FL, (April 12, 2026) – A 73-year-old man was killed Sunday after being struck by a vehicle while mowing his lawn in Marion County.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Anders Mossberg was in front of his home when a truck lost control and hit him from behind. The impact sent Mossberg and the lawn mower over a fence.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. A teenage family member reportedly witnessed the tragic incident. The crash remains under investigation.
Drivers strike lawn mower operators for a variety of reasons, including excessive speed, limited visibility, driver error, and distracted driving.
In this case, the driver who struck Mr. Mossberg had just navigated a curve prior to the incident.
