FRESNO, CA (April 03, 2026) – A 44-year-old woman was killed Friday evening in a two-vehicle crash caused by a driver running a red light in Fresno County, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The Fresno County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Ana Salcedo Jimenez, of Fresno.
Investigators said a Ford Expedition was traveling on Clovis Avenue when the driver entered the intersection at North Avenue against a red light at approximately 6:30 p.m. The vehicle collided with a westbound Mercedes-Benz CLA250.
Jimenez, who was a passenger in the Expedition, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Expedition sustained moderate injuries and was taken to a hospital.
Authorities said the Mercedes-Benz driver was allegedly under the influence at the time of the crash and was booked into county jail.
