PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. — A Pinellas County woman remains hospitalized after being struck by a hit-and-run driver on May 29.
Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the incident. Troopers said Wiley was struck sometime after 10 p.m. while crossing 54th Avenue N near Haines Road N. The driver dragged her approximately 20 feet before fleeing the scene.
The pedestrian, Amber Wiley, suffered multiple injuries including broken ribs. Her injuries resulted in a lacerated and collapsed lung. She has undergone several major surgeries so far.
The investigation is ongoing by the Florida Highway Patrol.
