STANTON, CA, (June 1, 2026) — A mother and daughter from Anaheim died after being struck by a vehicle Monday night while walking in Stanton, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
Authorities identified the victims as 61-year-old Amadilia Noemi Cruz and her 34-year-old daughter, Gabriela Amadilia Cruz.
Investigators said the pair was walking on Cerritos Avenue near Magnolia Avenue at approximately 9 p.m. when they were struck by a white BMW.
Emergency responders transported both women to a local hospital for treatment. Despite lifesaving efforts, Amadilia Cruz and Gabriela Cruz later succumbed to their injuries.
The driver of the BMW remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. No charges have been filed in connection with the incident.
Officials continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
