Alex Armand Dies in Temple Hit-and-Run crash, Police reports

TEMPLE, TX, (October 06, 2025) – Temple police are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred on Oct. 6.

Alex Armand, 45, of New York, tragically died after being struck by a tractor-trailer while crossing Interstate 35 near Exit 298 southbound at approximately 3:38 p.m.

The driver initially left the scene but later stopped near Salado and cooperated with authorities. Police arrested a 32-year-old man for failure to stop and render aid involving death. The Justice of the Peace pronounced Armand dead at the scene. The Temple Police Department Traffic Reconstruction Unit investigated the crash, which closed the highway for several hours.

CRASH INVESTIGATION

Texas leads the nation in truck crashes, with 26,298 tractor-trailer accidents in 2023, including 650 fatalities—52% higher than second-place California—according to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and the Texas Department of Transportation. Truck accidents in Texas have increased 13% since 2020, with roughly 1 in 1,000 drivers involved annually.

“Tractor-trailer crashes are often complex, and many factors can contribute to these accidents,” said Candice Bond, Managing Partner of Bond Legal and an experienced tractor-trailer accident attorney.

“An independent investigation is crucial to protect the rights of a victim. A skilled attorney can hire expert witnesses, review driver records, locate witnesses, analyze insurance coverage, and guide families through the legal process while safeguarding their interests,” Bond added.

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

The family of Alex Armand may pursue a wrongful death claim for damages including loss of income, companionship, and funeral expenses.

“A death in a family after an accident is both tragic and devastating,” said Stefano Formica, Of Counsel at Bond Legal.

“The grief, shock, and anger can be overwhelming. Beyond emotional suffering, the loss of a loved one can have significant financial consequences, including loss of income and funeral costs.”
