SAN ANTONIO — Authorities are investigating a fatal accident that occurred on May 23 just before 2 p.m. on Southeast Loop 410 near Moursund Boulevard. San Antonio police said a Chevrolet Silverado struck another vehicle, killing two people.
Road construction reduced the two-lane eastbound roadway to one lane, causing traffic to slow. The vehicle carrying Robledo and another occupant was struck from behind by the Silverado, sending it off the roadway.
Alejandro Robledo, 54, suffered fatal injuries when the vehicle hit a guardrail and ricocheted back onto the main lanes. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Another occupant in the vehicle, a 51-year-old San Antonio woman, also died in the accident.
Officials said the Silverado rolled onto its side and slid across the roadway. Its driver, a 22-year-old San Antonio man, sustained minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital.
The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed the victims’ identities and ruled their deaths an accident. Authorities closed the eastbound lanes of Southeast Loop 410 for nearly three hours while clearing debris and reviewing details of the accident.
