SAN ANTONIO, TX, (April 06, 2026) – A woman sustained serious injuries in a crash allegedly caused by a driver fleeing from law enforcement on April 6 in San Antonio, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).
Authorities said troopers attempted to stop a gray Infiniti with an improperly displayed license plate near East Drexel and South New Braunfels avenues. The driver, identified as 19-year-old Aiden Samuel Rodriguez, allegedly refused to stop and accelerated away.
During the pursuit, Rodriguez reportedly ran multiple stop signs while traveling northbound at a high rate of speed before colliding with two other vehicles at the intersection of South Walters and East Commerce streets.
One of the drivers involved was transported to Brooke Army Medical Center with severe injuries, including neck trauma, broken hands, lower back injuries, and a traumatic brain injury.
Rodriguez has been charged with collision involving serious bodily injury. Officials noted he was previously involved in another evading incident in 2025.
