VICTORIA, Texas — The Victoria Police Department is working alongside the Victoria County Sheriff’s Office and Texas DPS to investigate a fatal pursuit that ended in a multi-passenger accident June 22.
Officers responded to reports of gunfire near U.S. Highway 87 and Guadalupe Road around 7:45 p.m. and located a red Nissan matching witness descriptions. Police attempted a stop near E. North Street and N. Ben Wilson Street, but the vehicle fled eastbound and later crashed near Hanselman Road and Julius Street.
Aidan Hewer, 18, was riding in the rear seat of the Nissan and died at the scene, according to a police statement. A 17-year-old male passenger also died. The 18-year-old driver and a 15-year-old girl in the front seat were hospitalized.
Officials said both surviving occupants were first taken to local facilities and later transferred for continued treatment.
