EASLEY, SC, (March 28, 2026) – A 49-year-old woman was killed Saturday afternoon in a pedestrian crash in Pickens County, authorities said.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, Adela Aguilar was struck by a 2025 Jeep Compass while crossing Gentry Memorial Highway at Mauldin Road at approximately 2:30 p.m.
Aguilar sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
The Pickens County Coroner’s Office and SCHP continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. Officials will work to determine what led to the driver striking Aguilar.
