LEXINGTON, S.C. — A multi-vehicle collision June 5 at an interstate exit in Lexington claimed the life of a 22-year-old Columbia woman.
The accident happened at around 7:30 a.m. when a Toyota Scion left westbound Interstate 20 at Exit 55. It crossed several traffic lanes of South Lake Drive, where it was struck by an oncoming Acura.
The Lexington Police Department said that 22-year-old Trinity Jones of Columbia, was a passenger in the Toyota. She suffered critical injuries in the collision and was transported to Lexington Medical Center. She later suucumbed to injuries, Lexington County Coroner’s Office said.
Multiple agencies responded to assist with the incident, including the Bureau of Protective Services, the Attorney General’s Office, the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the Lexington County Sheriff’s Office, Lexington County Fire Services, and Lexington County Emergency Medical Services.
