DENVER, Colo. — The Denver Office of the Medical Examiner is investigating a fatal crash that happened May 4 at around 9 p.m. on E. Colfax Avenue. Officials said a suspected impaired driver struck a scooter rider.
Authorities identified the deceased as Anna Fierro, 44. Emergency personnel transported her to a hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
Fierro was riding a standup electric scooter in the 700 block of E. Colfax Avenue when a vehicle hit her.
Officials said the driver, a 35-year-old man from Denver, remained at the scene. Authorities later arrested him on charges of vehicular homicide.
The medical examiner determined Fierro died from multiple blunt force injuries.
Authorities continue to investigate the accident.
