ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester Police Department is investigating a hit-and-run accident that critically injured a 12-year-old boy on April 16.
The accident occurred at Avenue D and Bauman Street. A vehicle struck Elijah Harris. The driver briefly spoke with Elijah’s father before fleeing the scene.
Elijah remains unresponsive after being in a coma for more than a week. He was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The driver has not been located. Elijah’s family is urging the driver to turn himself in.
Authorities continue to look for the suspect.
