ORANGE, Texas— Police are investigating an April 22 crash involving a dump truck and an SUV that left one person dead.
The accident happened around 9:49 a.m. on the 4500 block of Womack Road. Authorities said a dump truck overturned after colliding with an SUV, which caught fire following the impact.
Officials identified Sommer Gallien, 44, as the driver of the SUV. Emergency responders pronounced her dead at the scene.
The dump truck’s driver suffered injuries and was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital for treatment.
Additional details surrounding the incident were not immediately released.
