ODESSA, Texas— A four-vehicle accident on E. 42nd Street sent four individuals to the hospital on April 11, while police conducted an investigation into intoxication-related charges.
Authorities reported Tyler Vestal, age 32, drove a maroon Ford F-250 pickup eastbound in the 400 block of E. 42nd Street. Vestal changed lanes and struck another car, triggering a chain reaction involving two additional vehicles.
Police confirmed that a 7-year-old girl was seriously injured and airlifted to Lubbock for medical treatment. Three others sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Emergency responders transported them to Medical Center Hospital.
After further investigation, officers determined Vestal was intoxicated at the time of the accident. Police arrested him on charges of intoxication assault and took him to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center.
