LENOIR COUNTY, N.C.— A passenger was killed after a vehicle struck the back of the moped on March 15.
Officials identified Margo Grandchamp, a resident of Eure, North Carolina, as the passenger who died in the March 15 accident. Emergency responders pronounced her deceased at the scene.
Troopers said a Honda Passport driven by a 32-year-old man, struck the moped while traveling south on Highway 11 near Quinn Saw Mill Road. The southbound moped was driven by a 25-year-old man.
Authorities charged the driver with misdemeanor death by vehicle, driving with a revoked tag, and operating a vehicle without insurance.
The North Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the accident.
